Lamar and Shana tied the knot at Southern Exchange Ballrooms on August 7. Their lavish, Hollywood-inspired wedding in Atlanta, Georgia was nothing short of perfection. Every small detail they planned fell right into place, and you could truly feel the love these two share. Intentionally Yours Event Planning did an outstanding job helping their vision become a reality. I was honored to photograph the day, while Bernard Focus Filmz did a great job with the videography. As you will see from these pictures, Lamar and Shana’s lavish wedding day beautifully encompasses who they are as a couple.
Lamar and Shana have known each other since childhood! Though they grew apart, they found each other again in high school, and then attended college together. The rest is history. One of the first things I noticed about Lamar and Shana is how well they compliment each other: Lamar is very cool and reserved, while Shana gives off the fashionably forward, posh demeanor. For instance, Shana’s crystal bouquet is a perfect example of her fashionably forward sense of style. I loved watching them sneak in quick jokes and smiles throughout the evening. Even with all eyes on them, they continued to be their normal selves when they were together. Lamar and Shana share a daughter, Ava, and it was heartwarming to watch her be there to celebrate the love that her parents share.
As a photographer, I love being a part of the morning of the wedding. There is always lots of excitement as the bride and groom anticipate what the rest of the wedding day will bring. As the big day began, Shana got ready with her bridesmaids and her daughter while Lamar got ready with his groomsmen. Their hair done in updos by Haircare by Tiffany and their flawless make up done by JoJo Jimenez-Garcia. Shana decided to go with a low bun with loose curls, which perfectly complimented her strapless gown from J. Andrew’s Bridal. Meanwhile, the guys were also preparing. Lamar’s tux with a red jacket from Be Savvi fit perfectly with the Hollywood theme. The bridal party looked stunning in their attire from Bridals by Lori. The bridesmaids wore black, floor length dresses with off the shoulder straps. Similarly, the groomsmen wore black tuxes with red bow ties.
From the moment I walked in, I could feel the Hollywood-inspired wedding décor. The gold chairs with white cushions, the black runner down the aisle, and the abundance of florals from B. Worley Productions transformed the space into a special place for Lamar and Shana to say “I Do”. The ceremony, like the rest of the day, was a perfect representation of their love. In addition, Lamar and Shana even found special ways to incorporate their loved ones: they played a slideshow with pictures of the people who mean the most to them. The guests loved it!
Afterwards, the ballroom was transformed from a ceremony space to an extravagant reception space. There were elegant black table coverings, gold chairs, and a gorgeous abundance of red and white flowers everywhere. Guests were in awe of all the details that perfectly came together. For example, Lamar and Shana even used director’s clapboards as their table numbers to really tie in with the Hollywood feel.
Catering and bar services at the reception were handled by Rosendale Events. The food and drinks were delicious. As guests ate, I could hear guests raving about the dinner. After dinner, Lamar and Shana cut their cake from Confection Perfection. The cake had white frosting and beautiful gold bands around each tier, which was another perfect Hollywood touch. Additionally, Lamar and Shana also incorporated their mother and grandmother’s desserts for the dessert table. It was a delicious spread of dessert options. No guest left hungry!
Finally, Lamar, Shana, and their guests danced the night away to music played by DJ Reese. The dancing part of the night was a huge party, and it was a true testament to the love that Lamar and Shana share. So many people wanted to spend the night on the dance floor celebrating with them!
Above all, Lamar and Shana are an absolutely beautiful couple with a bright future. I hope these images paint a picture of their beautiful Hollywood-inspired wedding. I want to wish the new Mr. & Mrs. Mason a lifetime of love and happiness!
XOXO,
